Faculty Objectives

With the advancement of technology and the transformation of small production and service systems into large and complex organizations, the need for scientific methods to manage these entities has increased. These changes led to the inability of traditional engineering disciplines to independently address the challenges faced by these institutions. To fill this gap, a new field called "Industrial Engineering" emerged in recent decades, aiming to design and improve complex systems involving humans, materials, equipment, and machinery.
Given the current conditions and the goals of national development, population growth, and resource limitations, industrial engineering graduates can play a significant role in improving productivity and addressing the technical and economic challenges of the country.
With the aim of realizing national development goals and with the grace of God, this faculty strives to achieve the following objectives by enhancing the quality and quantity of educational services and training specialists:
  • • Training specialists for industries and organizations
  • • Educating faculty members and researchers in the field of industrial engineering
  • • Offering educational programs for industry managers
  • • Expanding the capacity of postgraduate programs
  • • Establishing new courses tailored to societal needs
  • • Revising and improving curricula
To achieve these objectives, the following measures are being implemented:
  • • Recruiting specialized faculty members
  • • Enhancing educational and laboratory facilities
  • • Utilizing mechanized systems in various fields
  • • Strengthening support staff
The Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems continues its educational activities in formal and non-formal sectors, utilizing specialized professors and modern technical infrastructure.
 

Formal Education Services

The faculty offers the "Industrial Engineering" program at the undergraduate level with four educational tracks: Industrial Engineering, Executive Management, Information Systems, and Production and Service Systems. At the master's level, it offers six specializations: Financial Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain, Health Systems, Project Management, Systems Modeling and Data Analysis, and Production and Service Optimization. At the doctoral level, it has three specializations: Logistics and Supply Chain, Systems Optimization, and Health Systems.
Currently, more than 479 undergraduate students are enrolled in Industrial Engineering and Management Systems, with over 1,900 having graduated from these programs. Each year, approximately 80 students are admitted to the undergraduate program through the national entrance exam. Additionally, more than 2,100 students are enrolled in master's programs, with 1,908 graduates to date. The faculty began its doctoral program in Industrial Engineering in 1994 with seven students, and 130 individuals have graduated so far. Currently, 96 students are pursuing doctoral studies.
 


Non-Formal Education Services

Utilizing available capacities, the faculty provides non-formal educational services to complement its formal programs. These services include:
  • • Specialized mid-term programs such as summer and winter schools
  • • Short-term specialized courses
  • • Skill development and empowerment programs
  • • Joint programs with international universities
  • • Collaborative programs with industries and organizations
  • • Organizing conferences, seminars, and specialized events
Short-term and mid-term specialized training programs are offered both in-person and online as flexible tools for enhancing knowledge and skills.
 


Research and Investigations

Today, a key factor in the development of faculties and universities is the application of research results to address the challenges and needs of industrial centers and executive organizations. These challenges are diverse across society and span various specialties, necessitating continuous evolution in applied research, which plays a vital role in societal growth and development. As a result, research activities are essential to university progress.
In this faculty, beyond the general objectives that include some research goals, faculty members actively participate in various research projects. The research projects can be categorized into three main areas:
  1. Independent academic research
  2. Industrial research projects
  3. Graduate research projects


Educational and Research Facilities

Council Room

The faculty's council room, located on the fifth floor, was established in 2013 to host comprehensive council meetings and various scientific events, including logistics-related sessions and advanced financial courses. This room has hosted numerous significant faculty and university meetings, as well as free educational courses. It is equipped with practical tools such as monitors, electronic whiteboards, projectors, and other related equipment.

Auditorium

The faculty’s auditorium, one of the university's well-equipped halls in terms of audio-visual systems, was inaugurated in 2016. Located on the ground floor, it accommodates 170 individuals and is notable for its quality equipment and easy access, especially due to its location outside the university’s main campus.

Laboratories

The faculty features a range of advanced laboratories that enable students and researchers to practically explore various industrial engineering concepts across areas such as work evaluation, ergonomics, production systems, optimization, data mining, and logistics. These laboratories include:

Computer Lab

In the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, computers are recognized as indispensable tools for education and research. In line with this, efforts have been made to provide not only the necessary software but also suitable hardware.
Apart from equipping the faculty's computer center, separate computers have been allocated for administrative, educational, and faculty offices. Additionally, dedicated computer rooms have been established for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs.
Currently, more than 70 computers are available in the faculty, supported by multiple peripheral devices. Furthermore, a computer network has been set up to facilitate connectivity among these systems.
